Prepare for a once-in-a-lifetime East Africa Safari in Kenya and Tanzania! Explore some of the finest African safari destinations - Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Great Rift Valley Lakes, and Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
We start our Kenya & Tanzania Safari experience with a night in the bustling city of Nairobi, Kenya. We then travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to East Africa's largest black rhino population and Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary. Then, we soak in the scenery, spot birds, and encounter wildlife at the beautiful Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Our East Africa Safari then travels to one of Africa’s finest wildlife parks, the Masai Mara National Reserve of Kenya where we enjoy epic game-viewing before travelling to Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. From there, we head to the Serengeti National Park, home to the spectacular Great Migration. Then, spot the Big 5 in Ngorongoro Crater and head to Arusha where this budget African safari finishes.
Your unforgettable East Africa Safari in Kenya & Tanzania starts in Nairobi. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your driver is there to welcome you to Africa and take you to your luxury hotel in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. Once you’ve settled in at your accommodation, you can choose to see the sights of Nairobi and sample the local cuisine at one of the city’s many restaurants or have dinner at the hotel (own account).
Day two of your Kenya & Tanzania Safari starts with an early breakfast before driving north to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Here we check into a luxurious tented camp overlooking scenic landscapes with Mount Kenya in the distance.
This comfortable camp is located inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which hosts the Big 5 of Africa. Enjoy a drink in the bar, built in the style of a game-viewing hide, while watching for wildlife at the active waterhole. Then head to the central restaurant and tuck into your choice of regional or international cuisine. After dinner, relax in the lounge or bar area which features a cosy log fire for chilly evenings. At the end of the day retire to your spacious walk-in safari tent with its own en-suite bathroom and private balcony.
Spend day three on safari in Kenya exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy on morning and afternoon game drives. This is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees. It is also home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos.
In between our 4x4 game drives, we return to the tented camp for lunch and dinner. During the day, we also visit the local rhino and chimpanzee sanctuaries, where we see rescued animals. From a working cattle ranch in colonial Kenya to a trailblazer of conservation innovation, the story of Ol Pejeta is as enchanting as it is inspirational. Ol Pejeta Conservancy has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya and still manages a successful livestock program. It also supports the people living around its borders to ensure wildlife conservation translates to better education, healthcare, and infrastructure for the next generation of wildlife guardians.
The fourth day of your East Africa Safari starts with breakfast before we drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch at our next lodge.
This afternoon you can embark on a boat trip to Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha, one of a series of scenic lakes formed by the Great Rift Valley. Explore the island on a guided walk spotting various animals and birds along the way. Alternatively, you can relax at the lodge and enjoy the expansive lakeside grounds. Visit the lodge's jetty to spot hippos, other animals, and birds, and admire the beautiful views of Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island, Mount Longonot, the Mau Escarpment, and the Aberdares Mountains in the distance.
On day five of our budget African safari, we embark on a game drive in Hell’s Gate National Park and explore Lake Naivasha further. Hell’s Gate National Park is one of the few reserves in Kenya that can be explored on foot or by bicycle due to the absence of large predators. Explore on your own and discover the rock formations and wildlife of this compact park.
Back at the safari lodge we have lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in this beautiful, tranquil spot. Explore the beautiful lakeside area on foot and unwind at the lodge with its lush meadows that run down to the lakeshore. Lake Naivasha is a birding haven with a wide variety of water birds including fish eagles, which feed on the black bass and tilapia of its waters. Freshwater Lake Naivasha is known for its dramatic mood shifts with the submerged volcanic crater of Crescent Island and towering Mount Longonot (2,776 m) adding to its mysterious charm. The lake is dotted with floating islands of water hyacinth and papyrus and has no known outlet. Legend is that an extensive network of tunnels runs beneath the lake.
After a tasty breakfast at our Lake Naivasha lodge, it is time to hit the road for the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at our camp along the Mara River and enjoy lunch overlooking the African bush.
This afternoon we embark on our first 4x4 game drive in Masai Mara. We explore the renowned Mara Triangle region around our camp, where we may witness the Great Migration in season.
The Great Migration is a world-renowned wildlife spectacle, which sees massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrate across the wild plains. Soak up the ultimate safari setting of rolling grasslands, winding rivers, and tall escarpments as we search out predators and other animals. After our first eventful game drive, we return to our camp for sundowners and dinner in the wild setting of camp.
Spend all day on safari in Masai Mara National Reserve embarking on morning and afternoon game drives. In between your Masai Mara safari adventures, enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the tented camp. For game-viewing, there is nowhere in Africa richer in wildlife or more eventful in encounters than the Masai Mara. A pristine wilderness of incredible beauty, it promises visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific birdlife, and the opportunity to see the Big Five of Africa in one morning!
After a delicious breakfast at the Masai Mara safari camp, we drive to the border and go from Kenya to the shores of Lake Victoria, Tanzania. After a trip that includes a picnic lunch along the way, we check into our luxury lodge which offers a perfect destination for rest and relaxation.
Lake Victoria is Africa's largest inland lake and the second-largest freshwater lake in the world, covering a little over 68,800 km² (26,563 mi²). Located conveniently close to major game reserves, the lake is a sought-after safari destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
We rise to enjoy breakfast at the safari lodge and explore Lake Victoria on a canoe ride before visiting a local fish village. Then our East Africa Safari leaves Lake Victoria and heads to Serengeti National Park. We check in at a camp located on one of the main annual routes of the Great Migration. After a scrumptious lunch, we set off on an afternoon game drive in the legendary Serengeti Park. Enjoy the vast Serengeti Plains and spot all kinds of animals and birds before returning to our camp for dinner and a good night's rest in your comfortable tented suite.
The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's largest wildlife park, covering 14,763 km² (5,700 mi²) of rolling savannah plains. Located at the heart of the larger Serengeti ecosystem, it is the country's oldest park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that sets the scene for our unforgettable game-viewing adventures.
Today, our East Africa Safari in Kenya & Tanzania is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti National Park, which offers outstanding wildlife viewing year-round. The Serengeti is home to tens of thousands of hoofed animals and healthy populations of predators. Be ready to witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration (in season) and marvel at the sight of these animals in their natural habitat.
After a morning of exploring Serengeti National Park, we will return to our camp for lunch and a rest. Then we set off on an afternoon game drive in the central Serengeti region before returning to camp for a sumptuous dinner. Spend the night in comfort as we prepare for a new Tanzania wildlife adventure the next day.
After breakfast, we depart from our safari camp, enjoying a final 4x4 game drive in Serengeti National Park. Then we take a leisurely drive into the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping to visit the world-famous Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Mankind. After a picnic lunch, we continue to our next lodge at the Ngorongoro Crater arriving in the late afternoon.
The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known for its high concentration of wildlife. The rest of the day is spent at our safari lodge perched on the southern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, overlooking the yellow fever trees of the Lerai Forest.
After a leisurely breakfast at our Ngorongoro Crater lodge, we drive to the town of Arusha at the foot of Mount Meru.
Settle in at the grand hotel and rest in your elegant en-suite room. Later, you can head out and see the sights of Arusha and sample the local cuisine at one of the town’s restaurants or dine at the hotel (own account) at a restaurant overlooking the lush gardens.
Begin the final morning of your Kenya & Tanzania Safari with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Then you're driven to the Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, bringing our East Africa Safari adventure to a close.

Please note that the Wildebeest Great Migration is seasonal. As a natural wildlife phenomenon, it is fluid and unpredictable. For this reason, seeing the Great Migration cannot be guaranteed.
The wildebeest and other wild herbivores migrate between Masai Mara in Kenya and Serengeti in Tanzania. These herds move in a massive circular route covering some 1200 miles (1931km). It is a continuous movement of wildlife that can be seen in different areas at different times of the year. During certain phases of this annual trek the animals disperse or slow down, whilst at other times the migration picks up speed, with the herds becoming larger and denser. Not only does the Wildebeest Great Migration vary from place to place and season to season but the movement of these large wildlife herds varies from year to year.
