Harriet African Travel Fanatic

I was born and brought up in UK, but the travel bug bit a long time ago and I have now travelled to all seven continents - most extensively in southern and East Africa. My travel experiences have varied from participatory, overland camping trips to fly-in safaris at luxury lodges.

I have been through the Selous Game Reserve on a train, cycled across the equator in Kenya and spent the night on top of Table Mountain. I have rafted the biggest commercially run rapid on the Zambezi and stood (twice) at the summit of Kilimanjaro. Due to the different calendars in use I even officially celebrated by 21st birthday, for a second time, in Ethiopia.

I have been working in the travel industry since 1994 and Cape Town is where I am now lucky enough to live and work. We might be some distance from the most exciting game viewing reserves but are surrounded by spectacular, ever-changing, sea and mountain scenery and can see sunbirds from the office window.
