Terry grew up in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana and has travelled extensively throughout Southern and East Africa, including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.

He has particular expertise in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, overland safaris, safari costs and helping travellers choose the best-value safari experience.

How African Budget Safaris Began

Terry founded African Budget Safaris in 2006 after seeing that most safari companies focused only on expensive, luxury trips. His goal was to make authentic African safari experiences more accessible, helping travellers enjoy the same wildlife, landscapes and adventures without paying luxury prices. African Budget Safaris was one of the first companies to offer budget safaris online.

When he’s not planning safaris, Terry can usually be found surfing, travelling or exploring a new corner of Africa.
