Why Travel To Namib-Naukluft National Park?

Tours to Namib-Naukluft take you on an unforgettable desert experience to the most iconic landscapes of Namibia. Endless ochre sand dunes and bleached pans of cracked earth scattered with ancient dead trees. The desert silence is immense, the horizons open and the night-skies dazzling.

Due to its location and popularity, the Namib-Naukluft Park is featured on numerous tour itineraries, so it's easy to incorporate it into a variety of routes or visit the park on its own as part of a short Namibia Tour.

About Tours to Namib-Naukluft

We have almost 80 Budget Safaris that travel to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, so there are many options available.

The shortest Namib Desert Tours are 3 and 5 days long, focussing almost exclusively on the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Sesriem Canyon and surrounds. The shorter Namibian Safaris that visit the Namib-Naukluft Park start in Windhoek or Swakopmund and are mostly Budget Lodge Safaris. Our longer Budget Namibia Safaris, about one-week in duration, also go to Etosha National Park, the Skeleton Coast and Damaraland highlights, such as Spitzkoppe.

If you have two weeks to explore Namibia then you can add the Caprivi Strip in north-west Namibia and end your tour at the famous Victoria Falls in Zambia. Alternatively, you can combine the Namib-Naukluft and Etosha in Namibia with Chobe in Botswana, starting in Windhoek and ending in Livingstone, Zambia. On the most comprehensive tours of Namibia, you can also experience the Kalahari, Kgalagadi, Fish River Canyon, Orange River, the wild horses of the Namib Desert, Skeleton Coast, Spitzkoppe and Twyfelfontein, in addition to Swakopmund, Etosha National Park and Windhoek. These are just a few of the options for tours ranging between 13 and 16 days.

The longest Budget Safaris that include Namib-Naukluft Park are a whopping 56 days long! These long Overland Tours journey between Cape Town in South Africa and Nairobi in Kenya, travelling to highlights in most countries of Southern and East Africa en route. The major Overland Tours in the region of 40-days long also travel between Cape Town and Nairobi, taking you from South Africa through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania to Kenya.

In between, there are plenty of mid-length tours (often about three-weeks long) which explore Southern Africa extensively. Typically these include South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia, where you'll visit the Namib-Naukluft.
