In case you are still not sure where Namibia is located in Africa. Namibia is in southern Africa. Southwest Africa to be more exact. Namibia was in fact called German South-West Africa (from 1884 to 1919) and then South-West Africa (until 1990).
This large southern African country is located along the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Africa. The coastline of Namibia is about 977 miles (1,572 km) long! While Namibia itself covers about 825,615 km² making it one of the largest countries in Africa.
Most of northern Namibia borders on Angola, with a small section bordering on Zambia in the far northeast. Botswana lies to the east of Namibia and South Africa to the south and southeast.
